BATTLE YOUR DEMONS GAMEPLAY VIDEOS

I made a few videos showing the gameplay of the 3 levels I made for Battle Your Demons which you can see below. There are a few issues within the game, not game breaking just annoying more than anything but will be addressed later.

The main ones is that sometimes the enemy health bars don’t work properly, sometimes it doesn’t show the health going down when Claire attacks them, or sometimes the bar is empty before you attack. Another one is the attack itself; I have set it to do that process once and repeat after it has finished, but sometimes it overlaps and does more than one attack at once, and sometimes doesn’t show Claire’s melee attack animation even though she is attacking and you can hear the sounds, but this is again something that can be addressed later.

For now, I just wanted to get some gameplay videos up to show people if they don’t want to play the game themselves.

Battle Your Demons Level 1 Playthrough

Level 1 is meant to represent loneliness; this is why I went with an icy tundra level. I felt it went well with the theme of loneliness. I wanted to go with the blue icy look too as blue is generally a colour people associated with sadness and loneliness based on a little research I did to find the best colours that represented each mental disorder I was trying to represent in the game.

Battle Your Demons Level 2 Playthrough

Level 2 is a representation of depression, which sees the player falling into a deep depression of land. I designed it as a swamp/marsh as I thought that this would represent it better, being in a bog with heavy rain.

Also, the black rain was more of a happy accident. I initially made the rain a white/clear colour, but for some reason it changed it to black when I copied the folder over to my desktop so I could package it without issues. It annoyed me at first as I thought it was something that I would have to fix, but then I looked and thought it went well with the theme of the level, having black rain pouring down when traveling through a dark and murky swamp, and since it is in another realm, it makes more sense and I feel it works well for the theme of level 2.
